Soundgarden, il nuovo singolo "Live to Rise"

Sono tornati. A 15 anni dal loro ultimo album, i Soundgarden hanno pubblicato un nuovo singolo da pochi giorni in onda sulle frequenze radio di tutto il mondo. Si chiama Live to Rise, ed è una ventata d'aria fresca per i fan di una delle band culto del rock anni '90.

Quando una band ritorna sulle scene dopo un'attesa tanto lunga ogni nuova mossa è destinata a far discutere. Così il nuovo brano dei Soundgarden, una delle band più rappresentative del grunge anni '90 divide già i fan. La band si era sciolta nel '97 e da allora, il silenzio. La reunion del 2010 aveva fatto sperare gli amanti del rock in un ritorno in grande stile e così la band si è data da fare.

Il brano è presente nella soundtrack del film The Avengers, la nuova pellicola della Marvel ispirata all'omonimo fumetto, e il frontleader del gruppo, il carismatico e sexy Chris Cornell ha commentato così la scelta: "Sebbene Live to Rise non sia affatto un brano leggero per famiglie, è tra i nostri pezzi probabilmente quello che si è avvicinato di più a questa idea“.

Cornell ha però rassicurato i fan del sound maggiormente hardcore tipico dei Soundgarden: "Il resto dell'album (che uscirà soltanto in autunno, ndr) è per loro".
