It is with great disappointment and also anger that I read of the hounding that the Italian press had engaged in after Il Volo’s participation in the Sanremo Festival. It is quite incredible that these young men are treated with this unwarranted abuse , vile comments and infernal contempt every time they go up on stage despite the fact that the Italian public always responds to them with warmth and receives their music with standing ovations. Why do they produced such hate in the Italian press? It is the fresh way in which they bring the Italian music to the world, it is their youth, their incredible success, their great looks, their humble, happy and accessible demeanor or just the lack of scandal and gossip that mostly feeds the newspaper’s pages? One has to ask these questions because otherwise the negative articles offer no concise explanation or a realistic base. Il Volo is a world wide phenomenon, their music and their voices welcomed in the choicest venues around the world, praised by notable singers, their charming personalities enchanting everyone who comes in contact with them, and their talent indisputable. Any real newspaper journalist out there that without being afraid of whomever is instigating this hate against Il Volo dares write a serious, truthful and glowing article validating the boys’ worth? Whomever you are, I dare you. Thank you Patrizia for your great article, let’s see who follows on your steps.
